What’s included in a travel retreat?

Everything is included from the time you get to us until the time you leave. That means all lodging, food, wine, transportation, transfers, activities, entrance fees, tour guides, etc. We’ve put a lot of thought into each hour of your retreat, so you can close your wallet and relax. We also schedule a group call six weeks before the trip, where we cover the itinerary and your questions. 

Your airfare is not included.

What kinds of retreats do you offer?

For the last few years, we’ve partnered with The Art Garage to offer our sell-out La Dolce Vita retreats at our family home in Umbria. These retreats include several popular art classes, as well as many cultural excursions and fun activities. They’re a blast! 
Based on their popularity, in 2023, Casa Erica expanded into both private and open retreats, in Italy and beyond. Please see our Retreats page for a description of each experience.

Who comes on your retreats?

Everyone. We’ve had college students, seniors, singles, families, couples, and everyone in between. Our youngest solo guest was 18, and our oldest was 80. Many people come on one of our retreats to mark a time of transition in their lives: graduation, a significant birthday, the end of chemotherapy, a babymoon, a divorce, the death of a loved one, and other life-altering transitions. We rely heavily on choosing places and activities that restore, minister, and lend perspective but feel simultaneously celebratory and uplifting.

What are the private retreats?

Our private retreats are for groups such as family reunions, groups of friends, companies, or school classes. We work with you to create a custom boutique itinerary tailored to your group’s interests. We require at least eight people and, depending on location, can accommodate up to 15. Please inquire for group coordinator discounts. We plan these retreats 9-18 months in advance as spots are limited. 

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We require a non-refundable $1000 deposit to reserve your spot. The next $1000 is due 90 days before the retreat, with the balance due 60 days before. With the exception of the deposit, payments are partially refundable until 60 days before the retreat.

 - A passport? Yes. Additionally, your passport must be valid for at least 4 months from the date you leave Italy, and must have at least two blank pages.

 - Prior travel experience? Not at all. Although some of our guests are avid travelers, we are honored to host quite a few guests on their first international excursion.

Get to you from my destination airport? 

Once you’ve registered you’ll receive an email with basic guidelines of how to book a ticket into Rome, along with a few hotel and tour suggestions in case you’d like to spend some time in Rome. If you’d like more assistance, please reach out to our dedicated travel agent, Marion Taborda at 904.570.3000 or marion@odysseytravel.com. Marion will be happy to help you with hotel and tour reservations in Rome or throughout Europe. For a small fee, she can also book your international flight. 
We send written instructions on how to take the train from Rome to Orvieto, where we'll pick you up. For a fee we can also arrange private transfers.
